about Alfred Seifert

Alfred R. Seifert is the Chief Executive Officer and visionary at MSB Associates. Prior to starting MSB with partner Shawn Butler, Al spent almost thirty years leading teams and developing integrated systems and security solutions in challenging, large-scale environments.

A problem solver by nature, Al has always enjoyed the challenge of building complex systems—from airplanes and hypersonic vehicles, to software and integrated networks— that met certain requirements, but were reliable and easy to maintain.

Those natural abilities led Al down an interesting and challenging career path early on, starting with a commission as a Navy combat pilot shortly after receiving a BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

Though he was often sent abroad on operational tours, Al also managed to complete a MA in Systems Management at the University of Southern California. Thanks to his specialized knowledge, advanced training and technical background, he soon had the distinguished honor of serving as a strategic advisor to the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Later, Al led the development of the first services-oriented system architecture for the Department of Defense—resulting in improved communications and an annual savings of more than $250 million. At the same time, he also completed a MS in Information systems at George Washington University.

As a result of these experiences, Al has become an expert at understanding complex problems, then strategizing, and integrating a variety of technologies to create smart, efficient solutions.

Today as director of business and technology operations for MSB, he is responsible for steering the direction of the company, as well as managing internal team efforts. Al also regularly uses his strategic insight and technical skills to create customized technology solutions for clients in the areas of information systems, telecommunications, computer security and software development.

His innovative systems designs are currently used by the Department of Defense and commercial satellite networks, as well as the National Archives and Records Administration and the Internal Revenue Service.

Even after all these years, Al still has a passion for turning complicated systems and data into information that anyone can understand and use. Only now his focus is on helping other business find ways to synthesize large amounts of information in order to make accurate and effective business and security decisions.
